The purpose of the strategic planning process for ISD #2908 is to identify, quantify, and prioritize needs within the District while integrating input from all members of our communities, staff, administration, and students.
whAT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS?
The strategic planning process will be a three-phase approach. Phase I of the process includes gathering data and input to better understand the District’s needs. A series of listening sessions and an online survey gathered input from community members, staff, administration, and students. Third-party assessments including facility assessments, ADA assessments, Educational Adequacy assessments, and a demographics study were completed to understand existing conditions and needs. Phase II of the process identifies potential solutions to the District’s needs and aligns them with input from the communities. Phase III of the process is the implementation of the proposed improvements.
WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS IN THIS PROCESS?
In January 2019, the firm leading the District through this process, ICS Consulting, will complete Phase I (Data Gathering) and begin to move into Phase II (Solutions Development).
HOW CAN I STAY INFORMED ABOUT THIS PROCESS AND PLAN?
Our strategic planning website, www.bechargersunited.com, will have the most updated information. Periodically, District staff will be submitting letters to local newspapers on the District’s process and any upcoming meetings or events. Residents will also be mailed updates on milestone throughout the process. Questions and comments can be submitted on the “Contact Us” page.
WHAT ARE STUDENT ENROLLMENT projections? wHO DEVELOPED THEm?
Brandon-Evansville is part of a growing Alexandria community that continues to bring families and school-aged children to our District. Since 2009, Brandon-Evansville Schools’ K-12 enrollment rose 11.8% By 2028, our District’s enrollment is projected to increase by 17.5%.

HAVE LOCAL COMMUNITY MEMBERS BEEN INVOLVED IN THIS PROCESS?
Yes. In the Fall of 2018, eight (8) listening sessions were held to gather input from community members on their perspective of the District’s needs.
An online survey was also made available to all community members to gather additional input. Results were delivered back to all community members in November 2018.
As the process continues, there will continue to be more involvement opportunities for community members. Local residents are encouraged to continue to share their feedback and ask questions on the “Contact Us” page or find out how you can get involved on the “Your Role” page.
WHAT HAS GUIDED THIS PROCESS SO FAR?
ISD #2908 has been striving to create a healthy learning environment that promotes growth for all students. The School Board and administration have been working hard to ensure the District is fulfilling their mission statement that “the people of Independent School District #2908 believe that all students can succeed.
Our responsibility is to create the conditions that enable all students to learn the skills, acquire the knowledge, and develop their attitudes for them to reach their full potential as citizens who can meet the challenges of changing global society.
